Pitching in
WASHINGTON -- Pentagon military and civilian workers pitched in to help where needed after a highjacked commercial jetliner plowed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. Military and civilians aided rescue work by carrying stretchers with injured people to waiting ambulances. The Pentagon crash followed an attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City in one of the worst terrorist actions in history. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt Jim Varhegyi)
